The Art of Travelling with Intent
As much as I have an idea of places I would like to visit, often life has plans of its own.
Some of the most interesting places I have been to, were not places I would have thought in the past i would travel to, but luckily for me they have been interesting and unique destinations, with the authenticity of the country and culture intact to a greater degree than many of the more commercial destinations.
I came away from those experiences enriched and touched in a way that only such a place and people can accomplish. While i have not been to Bhutan, I did meet the most wonderful person from there: Palden.
His family have been bringing people to enjoy this special place for generations. In our conversations I was struck by how he spoke of his country with such pride and reverence. He told me about the political history and the way the country had decided not to deforest more than a small percentage of their forests, so as to retain the integrity of the natural environment.
These conversations made me want to visit this country, and I am sure would do the same for other likeminded travelers. If you want to find out more please go to this site:
